The mission of The NAMES Project Foundation is to preserve, care for and use The AIDS Memorial Quilt to inspire action, heighten awareness and foster healing in the age of AIDS. Our objectives are to provide a creative means for remembrance and healing, honor the lives and remember the names of the individuals lost to AIDS, illustrate the enormity of the pandemic and increase public awareness of HIV/AIDS, assist with varied HIV prevention and education efforts, and help bring about an end to AIDS and the misunderstandings and fear that may accompany this disease.
